Take Back Your Shelves Readathon

takebackyourshelves

Are you tired of your to-be-read shelves making you their bitch? There’s a readathon for that! Read the books you’ve put off for too long, or read something new to prevent it from becoming a forgotten book. The choice is yours!

Readathon Dates: May 28-30 (Saturday-Monday). I know not everyone has Memorial Day off of work, but this is an informal readathon so read whenever you have time. Thirty minutes? Cool. Thirty hours? Rebel.

Bonus: There will be prizes! Make sure to use the hashtag #TBYSreadathon on social media throughout the weekend to qualify, and keep an eye out for random prompts from me on Twitter and Instagram.

To sign up, leave a comment on this post. Please include your blog link or a social media link so I know where to find you.

This weekend, make those shelves your bitch!

PS: Massive thanks to Andi for her image and hashtag advice, and for being a marvelous human.

  4. Ahh, this sounds great! This is the first bank holiday weekend I’ve had off in maybe years, so a readathon sounds like the perfect way to spend it πŸ™‚ I’ll be updating on Twitter @louloureads.

  5. Ooooo All over this since I have way too many books tbr. I’ll be reading as often as I can, but do have plans over the long weekend & can’t completely ignore the family. Plus there’s the issue of Bloodline dropping tomorrow. Maybe I’ll have to only allow an episode here and there as a reading reward. Hmm. Onward to reading, which I’m already doing! • I’ve never seen Bloodline, but it sounds addicting! I’m currently working my way through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Might need to add Bloodline to the list. No harm in rewarding yourself with an episode after XX number of pages. Enjoy the weekend!

  6. Just gonna share my displeasure about not being able to fully participate in this through all possible media. If I do steal any time to read this weekend, I’ll be sure to dip in on the hashtag. I hope it goes swimmingly! πŸ™‚

    • Thanks, friend! I’m also bummed that you won’t be able to obsessively read with us, but I guess it’s for a good cause of human bonding time. We can’t all introvert all the time! I look forward to your random appearances if you manage any. πŸ™‚

  7. I didn’t smash as much of my stack as I’d hoped to this month – this Readathon is perfect timing for me! I’m @bookishinCT on Twitter and Instagram. That’s where I expect to provide updates, though I’ll probably post on my blog as well.

  9. Oh awesome, I’m glad I saw Andi’s blog post! This will be the perfect way to grab some introvert time during an otherwise socially exhausting weekend! I’ll drop a pre-weekend post at booksandbeethoven.wordpress.com and tweet about it @jessisreading (prob via Instagram @jess_is_reading). I might do some stuff on Litsy too (also jessisreading)!

  10. Yesss. I am tired of my TBR sitting there staring at me. And I need to catch up on my GR challenge. Plus it is supposed to rain a lot. Perfect! But not sure if I will be able to get a post up, because if I’m going to read all weekend I need to get the garden in! Thanks!
