Dewey’s 24 Hour #Readathon: Hour Zero Pre-Event

Welcome to Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon! The reading starts any moment, but I thought I would provide a little update post that I took from the opening meme. My answers are below, and then it’s time to start to reading!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I am reading from Fargo, North Dakota.

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I’m excited to start a few comics that are new to me, including Paper Girls, Bitch Planet,  Injection and Beauty.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I made puppy chow last night, and you can’t go wrong with homemade puppy chow.

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I work as a writer/editor for a natural health company. I am writing a novel at the moment for Camp National Novel Writing Month, but I have a few other novels that are unfinished. The goal is to actually get one ready for an editor this year, and then onward! Crossables crossed.

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
I’m a readathon veteran between Dewey’s and other readathons, and I finally have a groove with it. The key is to mix things up. Don’t only read for 24 hours. Take breaks. Talk to people. Find cool readathon shit online. Make friends. Drink coffee (or whatever you like to drink). And HAVE FUN!

Also, I didn’t get around to sharing my reading list on here, so here’s my stack:

That’s all I have for now. You can find me on Twitter (@lostgenreader) for random updates and shenanigans. Feel free to link me to your first update post, or anything readathon.

Happy reading to all participants!
