Here we are at the beginning of Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon! I hope everyone is awake and ready to go. The reading is about to begin, but first I thought I’d fill out the Opening Meme questions as posted on the main site. My answers are below, and then it’s time to start reading!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I am reading from Fargo, North Dakota, United States.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I’m excited for all the books (view complete list here), but I’m most excited to finish a couple different series by James Dashner (The Kill Order) and Stephanie Perkins (Isla and the Happily Ever After).
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I don’t have any snacks this time. I’m currently doing my third round of Whole30, so the closest I’ll get to snacking is probably apples with nut butter or a homemade Larabar. I know, I know… getting crazy. But I am enjoying all of the food pictures on Instagram! Looks delicious!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I work as a copywriter/proofreader/social media person for a natural health company. Outside of work I am mostly reading, writing, and spending time with friends/family. I recently spent 2.5 weeks in Europe with one of my close friends, and we visited England, Wales, France, Germany, and Austria. I’m going to try getting tickets to the Harry Potter play next summer, in which case I will be heading back to London. Fingers crossed!
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?This is my fourth round of Dewey’s Readathon. I don’t know what I’ll do differently. I’ll read as much as I can like always, and take breaks when necessary. I hope to be a little more active on social media this time, but we’ll see how it goes.
I’m ready! Let’s do this.
Happy reading to all participants!
