Here we are at the beginning of Dewey’s 24 Hour Readathon! I hope everyone is awake and ready to go. The reading is about to begin, but first I thought I’d fill out the Opening Meme questions as posted on the main site. My answers are below, and then it’s time to start reading!
1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I am reading from Fargo, North Dakota, United States.
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
I’m excited for all the books (view complete list here), but I’m most intrigued by the Saga series. I think the last graphic novel I read was Watchmen in 2009, so it’s been a long time. One of my good friends as well as many bloggers have said good things. Hoping for the best!
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
I baked some white chocolate macadamia nut cookies last night that I’m ready to eat once I’m more awake. I’m also excited to pick up my next CSA haul later in the morning; bring on the fruits and vegetables! And, as always, COFFEE.
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I work as a copywriter/proofreader for a natural health company. Life outside of work mainly consists of reading, writing, and spending time with friends and family. I’m also going to Europe in June. Countries include England, Wales, France, Germany, and Austria. To say that I’m excited is an understatement.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today?
If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?This is my third Dewey’s Readathon event. I tend to always just go with the flow and not take it too seriously, so I hope to continue with that plan today. Some more reading hours would be nice, but I doubt I’ll make it a full 24 hours. My brain cannot function that long on pages, so breaking it up with other tasks (and a little sleep) is essential.
Today begins with a little Jane Austen and some breakfast.
Happy reading to all participants!
