Bout of Books Readathon

BoB11-200x200

Welcome to my “sign up” post for the Bout of Books Readathon! This is the eleventh round of Bout of Books and my second time participating. I’m not sure this is the best idea for me to participate considering I am running Austen in August this month along with my full-time job and side lia sophia jewelry business, but like most of you I’m crazy enough to give it a shot. For more information about this reading event…

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 18th and runs through Sunday, August 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. – From the Bout of Books team

I don’t know how many books I can reasonably read throughout this week, but here is my list of hopefuls:

Persuasion by Jane Austen
Astray
by Emma Donoghue
The Children Act
by Ian McEwan
We Were Liars
by E. Lockhart
Old Friends & New Fancies
by Sybil Brinton
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
by J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

Can’t wait to get started! See you all August 18th.

  1. Count me in! Also doing Austen in August. Hopefully I will be done with Emma & Persuasion. My list will be:
Oryx & Crake -Margaret Atwood (re-read)
A Room of One’s Own -Virginia Woolf
A Feast for Crows -George Martin

  2. I’m joining too! I really need to get some focus for reading!

I saw your Austen in August and I’m distraught that I just can’t join this year. I have too many unfinished books —- so many that it’s embarrassing — and I have to concentrate on them at the moment. I do have it in my mind for next year, so I’ll be sure to slot some time in for one of my favourite authors!

    Happy reading!
